Privacy Policy
We collect only what Slidemaker needs to work, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything yourself, anytime. Here's the detail.
Who we are
Slidemaker (“we”, “us”) runs the website at slidemaker.io and the Slidemaker app. We're the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at support@slidemaker.io.
What we collect
When you sign in
Your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account. We don't receive your Google password.
What you create and save
- Decks and slides, including text, layout and images you add.
- Your reference library: folders, links you save, screenshots you upload, images fetched from posts you add, text extracted from them, and video transcripts.
- Images you send to your phone with “Send to phone”. These sit behind a random, unguessable link and are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- If you connect the Telegram bot: your Telegram chat ID and the links or photos you send it.
Billing and usage
Your plan, subscription status, credit balance and credit history. Payment details are collected and stored by Polar, not by us — we only receive what we need to know your subscription status.
Technical data
Like any website, our servers and network provider process your IP address, browser type and request logs to deliver pages, keep the service secure and debug problems.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the demo, we receive the message you write.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal data.
- We don't run advertising or ad-tracking pixels.
- We don't use your decks, references or uploads to train AI models.
- We don't show your references or decks to other users.
How we use it
- To provide the service — store your work, run the features you use, and manage your subscription and credits (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep it safe and working — prevent abuse, apply rate limits, fix bugs (our legitimate interest).
- To talk to you — service and billing emails, and answers when you contact us. We don't send marketing emails unless you opt in.
- To meet legal obligations — such as tax and accounting records kept by our payment provider.
Who processes data for us
We use these providers to run Slidemaker. Each gets only the data it needs for its job.
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in (Google OAuth) | Name, email address, profile photo | |
| Polar | Payments, tax and invoices (merchant of record) | Email, billing details, payment method, purchase history |
| Cloudflare | Hosting the website, network delivery, image storage (R2) | IP address and request data; your uploaded and fetched images |
| OpenRouter and the AI models it routes to | AI text variants and video-to-slides | The text or transcript you ask the AI to work on |
| ScrapeCreators | Fetching TikTok posts and Pinterest search | The post link or search query you submit |
| Telegram | The capture bot, if you connect it | Your Telegram chat ID and the messages you send the bot |
Our application servers and database are hosted on infrastructure we operate through a hosting provider. Some providers are located outside your country, including the United States; where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and local storage
This marketing website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. The app uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember small preferences (like the last tab you used). We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie banner to click through.
How long we keep it
- Your account and content — for as long as your account exists.
- Fetched post images — cached for a limited time (currently 7 days), then fetched again if you reopen them.
- Send-to-phone links — 24 hours.
- Server logs — kept briefly for security and debugging, then discarded.
- Billing records — kept by Polar as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account.
Deleting your account
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately cancels any active subscription and permanently deletes your profile, decks, references, images, Telegram connection and credit history. Stored image files are removed from storage shortly after, and any copies in backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Polar anonymizes your customer record, keeping only what the law requires for tax purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. You can edit your name and delete your account yourself in the app; for anything else, email support@slidemaker.io and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Images are stored in private storage and only served to the account that owns them. Our database is not exposed to the internet. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you without undue delay.
Children
Slidemaker isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and let you know by email or in the app before the change applies.
